New O Z Wheel Based on F1 Design

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) In 2005, O•Z Racing celebrated successes with Fernando Alonso and Renault F1 in the constructors’ and drivers’ world championships.

The start of the 2006 season has produced a strong opener to the year not only for Renault, but for O•Z Racing as well.

The wheel manufacturer is once again the supplier to the world champion team as well as to the Williams team, which also has a successful Formula One track record.

O•Z Racing has for many years been one of the leading developers and manufacturers of light alloy wheels for road and racing vehicles, with over 30 years’ experience in international motor sports, from Formula One to Rallye Sport to the American Le Mans Series, as well as ChampCars and the Indy Racing League.

The fruits of O•Z’s developmental efforts for motor racing also benefit everyday drivers as well in the form of maximum quality, performance and safety. The product line was specifically developed using know-how obtained from Formula One, Rallye Sport, DTM and American Le Mans series racing.

The one-piece “Ultraleggera” is O•Z’s latest creation, and gives “regular” car drivers access to sophisticated racing technology for everyday driving. Six double spokes create the product’s visual association with Formula One. The black carbon fibre hub cap is also emblematic of O•Z’s dedication to motor sports and the pinnacle of racing Formula One.

Its weight-optimised design derived from advanced Formula One technology lends the wheel its fleet-footed profile. Proprietary O•Z technology made it possible for the manufacturer to cut down its weight by as much as 40% in comparison to die-cast wheels of the same size made for the same vehicles.

The Ultraleggera is available in three different versions. O•Z offers its “Crystal Titanium” version in sizes from 15 to 19 inches and a “Matt Graphite” version from 15 to 18 inches. The “Race Gold” wheel is made exclusively for the Subaru Impreza and comes in 17- and 18-inch models.
