First Intelligent Tire Technology Conference Set

(Akron/Tire Review) The first Intelligent Tire Technology Conference will be held Oct. 23-25 at the Marriott Detroit in Livonia, Mich.

Tire Review is the premier media sponsor of the three-day conference, which will examine critical issues surrounding “intelligent tire” technologies such as TPMS, RFID, run-flat systems, on-board inflation pressure systems and real-time tire condition reporting systems.

Experts from General Motors, Ford, Freescale Semiconductors, SmarTire, Tire Industry Association, Siemens VDO, EnTire Solutions, Goodyear, Tirestamp, ENOCEAN, Pressure Systems International, and the University of Akron are slated to participate in the conference.

Similar to events held in Europe, the first-ever U.S. conference has been organized by the International Quality & Productivity Center and Automotive IQ. The conference, said organizers, “will provide invaluable insights into what the industry has done to improve all aspects of tire technology, including tire pressure monitoring, embedded RFID and extended mobility systems.”

The program will include a keynote address by TIA’s Kevin Rohlwing on “Understanding the Impact of TPMS on the Replacement Passenger Tire Market;” a panel discussion on “Optimizing TPMS Performance” that will include Al Cohn, director of new market development and engineering support for Pressure Systems International; sessions on TPMS design and next generation TPMS units; a look at RFID use in tire systems; a session on large vehicle TPMS development; a session on the development of hybrid and optical communications systems; a presentation on consumer perceptions of TPMS; a seminar on TPMS servicing; and much more.

Registration information is available online at www.iqpc.com or by calling 800-882-8684 or 973-256-0211.

Hotel reservations can be arranged by contacting the Marriott Detroit at 734-462-3100 or online at http://marriot.com/propertypage/DTWLI.
