Yokohama’s Geolander Earns ‘Best Buy’ Award

Yokohama Tire Corp.’s Geolandar H/T-S tire has been named by Consumer Digest as one of its “2009 Best Buys.”

The monthly publication awarded the Geolandar H/T-S the Best Buy designation in two tire categories: All-Season SUV/Truck (Geolandar G051) and Performance SUV/Truck (Geolandar G052).

The Best Buy list, which is featured in Consumer Digest’s February 2009 issue, is chosen by its editors based on results from independent testing, consumer surveys, technical experts and hands-on evaluations.

“Earning Consumer Digest’s Best Buy designation reaffirms Yokohama’s commitment to quality and value,” said Dan King, Yokohama vice president of sales and marketing. “The Geolandar H/T-S is an exceptional tire and we’re proud of the recognition we have received from the editors.” (Tire Review/Akron)

Yokohama Rubber donates to Eastern Taiwan earthquake relief

Through its Yokohama Magokoro Fund, Yokohama Rubber will donate a combined ¥1 million (approx. $6,380).

Yokohama Rubber shared its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families who have lost loved ones and to all those who have been affected by the earthquake in Eastern Taiwan. In response, Yokohama Rubber and its employee-backed Yokohama Magokoro Fund said it will donate a combined ¥1 million (approx. $6,380) through the Japanese Red Cross Society to support relief efforts in the region.
