Staffing at each of your locations is critical to your bottom line, often dictating your profit or loss. The number of associates you retain can either lead to employees standing around doing nothing or customers standing around waiting for service.
When we surveyed retailers around the country, we found that staffing in the store is up slightly from the last time we conducted this study. However, outside sales and service staffing has dipped slightly. Specifically, service technicians hold the most positions in a shop at more than four, while there tends to be between two and three sales associates, and two to three tire technicians at each location surveyed. It’s also interesting to see the year over year trends as outlined here.
