Hankook Tire America Corp. renewed its commitment to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) with a check presentation during the Cincinnati Reds’ Military Appreciation Day Game over the weekend. Prior to the game Jae Bum Park, senior vice president of Hankook Tire America Corp., presented a $150,000 check to DAV National Commander Dave Riley.

“Hankook Tire is proud to continue its partnership with DAV for a third consecutive year,” said Hee Se Ahn, president of Hankook Tire America Corp. “We are honored to help provide American veterans with access to the benefits and services they deserve.”

As part of the renewed DAV partnership, Hankook will expand its sponsorship of the Hankook-DAV Mobile Service Office (MSO) program, increasing to six stops to better reach veterans across the country. MSO vehicles bring free services, such as assistance filing claims for Veteran Affairs benefits, directly to veterans where they live. This year, Hankook has leveraged its tire dealer network to bring DAV’s MSO vehicles to service local veterans at tire dealerships across the country, including stops in Philadelphia, Pa., Fayetteville, N.C., and Clarksville, Tenn., among other cities, the tiremaker said.

In conjunction with its donation to the DAV, Hankook has kicked off its Hankook Heroes recognition program. Individuals are invited to recognize a hero that has served the country in the Hankook Heroes online gallery at HankookHeroes.com. All heroes recognized will be entered for a chance to receive a set of Hankook tires.

During the Reds’ game, Park told Tire Review Hankook is proud to support U.S. military troops.

“When we had the Korean war, the United States backed up our country to protect our freedom. A lot of American heroes sacrificed their life in that war. That’s why we started our support to the DAV,” he shared.
