Conti Once Again Offering OTR Products to the Americas

Ten years after leaving the OTR markets in the Americas, Continental AG is relaunching the OTR/earthmover segment of its commercial specialty tires division in the Americas this August.

Markets the tiremaker is reentering in the segment include the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as well as Brazil and the Andean markets.

The OTR/earthmover product segment will be part of the evolution of Conti’s commercial specialty tires (CST) unit. According to Conti, the addition of the OTR segment will help increase CST’s positive reputation as a supplier of material handing tires, including forklift, airport, port and container handling segments.

The tiremaker plans to rollout four initial OTR tire sizes and will add more products in the coming months through 2017.

“This is a tremendous occasion not just for us, but for all Continental employees,” said Federico Jiminez, commercial specialty tires manager for the Americas. “We are entering the very robust market after a decade and we are in a position to do truly great things for our customers across the Americas. Everyone has worked hard to make this day a reality, it really deserves a celebration.”

In celebration of the reentry, the OTR team hosted an employee relaunch event at its U.S. headquarters in Fort Mill on Aug. 2.
