Hankook Features Concept Tire in Campaign

Hankook Tire Co. showcased its new 360-degree rotating Ball Pin Tire in the official video for the company’s The Next Driving Lab campaign.

Hankook Tire’s The Next Driving Lab campaign began in 2013 and aims to deliver a futuristic driving experience with advanced technology.

“By continuing our highly successful The Next Driving Lab campaign, Hankook Tire hopes to shed new light on our long-term commitment to leading the driving industry into the future by developing innovative, boundary-pushing technology.” said Mr. Seung Hwa Suh, vice chairman & CEO of Hankook Tire. “Hankook Tire will continue to display our authentic challenge spirit as well as our innovative brand values by releasing a variety of new and experimental products for our customers.”

The video features the Ball Pin Tire can move in a full 360-degree circle, make right angle turns and perform zigzag driving.

Hankook Tire said it installed an advanced gyroscope and a three omni-wheel system to the vehicle. The gyroscope and gyro-sensor measure and detect three-dimensional angles on the vehicle to help it maintain perfect balance between the body and the tire. The three omni-wheel system gives drivers precision control to drive at many speeds.
