Atturo Tire will print 3D tire treads on the show floor at SEMA, demonstrating how it uses 3D printing in the development of new tire designs, with its 3D Systems Pro-Jet Plus Color-Jet 3D printer.
Visitors will be able to see examples of 3D models of current tires, as well as get a sneak peak of upcoming models.
The tiremaker has made the use of 3D printing a key part of its new product development. Once an initial design is made, a 3D model of the tread pattern is made to evaluate the characteristics and appearance of the design, Atturo said. This method was used for the development of the Trail Blade M/T and is being applied to new products.
