TIA Plans to Hold OTR Fishing Tourney

TIA is going fishing. Rather, it is holding a fishing tournament as one of the leisure programs at the 2014 OTR Conference, set for Feb. 19-22 at the Marco Island Marriott Resort & Golf Club in Marco Island, Fla.

The event will take place on Feb. 20, from 1 to 5 p.m. Participants can choose from backwater fishing or offshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Attendees have expressed an interest in fishing in the past and with the Gulf Coast providing some of the best fishing in the country, we knew that Marco Island was the place to add it to our program,” said Matt White, TIA director of tire service. “We announced the fishing tournament to past attendees via email earlier and both excursions are already half full. The response has been tremendous.”

The fee for either the backwater fishing or the offshore fishing charter is $200 per person and includes transportation, boxed lunch, beverages, and captain’s gratuity. The charters provide the rods, tackle and bait and no fishing license is required. Participants must be registered for the OTR conference in order to attend.

For additional information, please contact LaKisha Pindell, TIA director of meetings, at 800-876-8372, ext. 104 or [email protected].
