Yokohama announced that in February 2013 it will release its Advan Sport V105 tire for high-powered, premium cars.
The tire, a successor to the company’s Advan Sport V103, will be available in 36 sizes ranging from 16- to 20-inch wheel diameters, including 10 sizes already fitted as original equipment. Yokohama added it will gradually expand the range of available sizes.
The Advan Sport V105 delivers driving performance superior to that of its predecessor, according to the tiremaker. “Together with its comfort and safety, it realizes a high degree of overall performance balance,” Yokohama added.
The tire’s structure, tread pattern and compound have been enhanced and include: a new “Matrix Body Ply Structure” to improve steering stability; reduced weight and maintained rigidity for more agile handling and a more comfortable ride; an asymmetrical, non-directional tread pattern and a new compound for enhanced performance on wet and dry surfaces; and a new “Mound Profile” to control block ground contact pressure for enhanced grip. In addition, according to Yokohama, asymmetrical pitch variations applied to the inside and outside of the tread pattern help make for a quiet ride.
