Yokohama Tire Corp. recently gave away $5,000 worth of commercial truck tires to Vicky and Bill Britton, of Orwell, Ohio, as the winners of the tiremaker’s contest at the Mid-America Trucking show in March.
Because Vicky swiped her card at the company’s booth during the show, held in Louisville, Ky., her husband, who owns Bill Britton Trucking, will receive a free set of Yokohama’s Zenvironment commercial tires.
“The contest awards Bill Britton Trucking eight Yokohama 703ZL drive tires and two 101ZL steer tires, along with free installation and valve stems at the Yokohama dealer of their choice,” said John Cooney, Yokohama director of commercial sales. “We’re happy the contest was such a success and congratulations to the Brittons.”
The new 101ZL steer tire, which will be officially launched this fall, and the 703ZL drive tire are part of Yokohama’s “eco-sensitive” Zenvironment line and are on the EPA’s SmartWay list of verified technologies for tires. Yokohama now has seven tires that are recognized as SmartWay “low rolling resistance tires,” the tiremaker said.
