TRIB and TIA announced the winner of their "Guess the Pressure" contest, held at the recent ATA Technology & Maintenance Council exhibition.
Using only a tire thumper, Lawrence Adams, president of Sterling Transportation Services in Blair, Neb., managed to get within 20 PSI in “measuring” the inflation pressure of the three retreaded tires on display.
For his efforts, Adams won a TIA Fleet Tire Service OSHA Compliance Training Program worth $300. Every contestant received a free air gauge.
“Contestants’ guesses were all over the place, with many being as far off as 30 PSI per tire. But, Lawrence clearly has a gift when it comes to checking tire pressure, and we congratulate him on being the closest to the mark,” said TRIB Managing Director David Stevens.
