Through its business Trelleborg Coated Systems, Trelleborg will acquire U.S.-based fabric coating companies. The tiremaker signed an agreement to purchase assets and businesses from the Uretek Archer Group, which own Uretek and Archer Rubber Co.
“The acquired businesses have superior technical knowledge with focused R&D and product development, in addition to solid partnerships with customers. The acquisition complements our existing business in engineered fabrics and broadens our product range in North America,” said Dario Porta, president of the Trelleborg Coated Systems.
Uretek and Archer develop and manufacture urethane-coated fabrics and rubber-coated fabrics.
The transaction is subject to approval and is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of 2014.
