Pirelli will introduce its all-new P Zero All-Season, a UHP all-season radial. On hand for the unveiling will be car designer Chip Foose.
The tire features a silica-based tread compound for traction and wear, four longitudinal grooves for handling and aquaplaning resistance, and the two zero degree nylon cap plies and steel belts minimize the footprint deformation under extreme situations, shorter braking distances and wet/dry traction.
The asymmetric tire comes with a 45,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.
Kumho, which fought the wheel diameter battle for many years, has gone in another technical direction a 15-series ultra-low aspect ratio tire.
The tiremaker will bow the KU31 at SEMA in size 385/15ZR22, a size for Corvette, Viper and Ferrari fitments.
“The world’s first 15 series tire is a perfect example of our ongoing commitment to research and development,” said Sae-chul Oh, Kumho president and CEO. “This is one of Kumho’s many innovations, including aroma, colored smoke, run-flat and X-speed tires.” (Tire Review/Akron)
