Three Texas men were arrested on Nov. 28 after a year-long investigation into an organized crime ring that allegedly stole tires and wheels from dozens of vehicles in the Brenham and Washington County, Texas, area.
The Brenham Police Department and the Houston Police Department’s auto theft unit were involved in the investigation.
According to the charges, the three men would steal the tire/wheel assemblies from private vehicles, leaving them up on cider blocks. In turn, they sold the stolen goods.
There were no suspects in the cases, which stretch back more than a year, until police received information about the suspects’ activities and a trail of cars on landscaping blocks. Police closed in and found tires and wheels in the possession of all three suspects.
The investigation continues, though, as police believe still more people were involved.
