The SEMA Technical Skills & Training Conference (TSTC) will give jobbers, installers and retailers the opportunity to take part in manufacturer-led demonstrations, seminars, workshops and training with a focus on many of today’s leading products and accessories. Developed by the Light Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA) and Professional Restylers Organization (PRO), this new conference will take place March 27-28, 2009 in Orlando, Fla.
“The industry is evolving and it’s clear that this refocused event will be better aligned to serve the needs of the aftermarket industry, specifically the truck market which has changed drastically in the wake of rising fuel prices,” said Ron DiVincenzo, SEMA’s LTAA chairman. “This is a one-of-a-kind event that will give the truck and restyling industry a unique opportunity to learn everything they need to know about what’s new in the market.”
Recognizing changes in the truck and restyling markets, SEMA identified a need for more direct education targeted to these two segments. As a result, the SEMA Spring Expo will be replaced with this new TSTC conference, which is better tailored to the evolving needs of the truck and restyling markets. In addition to the educational content, the conference will also feature manufacturer displays that will be open to attendees between the seminars.
“The SEMA Technical skills and Training Conference will give installers and dealers unprecedented access to manufacturers,” said Chuck Blum, chairman of SEMA’s PRO Council. “Suppliers will be conducting product training seminars, giving all attendees first-hand information and the ability to ask questions and increase their product knowledge. The idea is that better knowledge and new installation tricks will translate into a more profitable business. Facing the challenges our industry is confronted with, knowledge and confidence is the answer to future success.”
The cost to attend TSTC is $75. Registration is open at www.sema.org/TSTC or by calling 909/396-0289, ext. 181. Details on how manufacturers can exhibit can be found on the Web site as well, or by calling 909/ 396-0289, ext. 173. (Tire Review/Akron)
