China’s Sailun brand of medium truck tires has gained EPA SmartWay low rolling resistance verification for its S622 EFT radial trailer tire.
 
“We’re very pleased to receive the EPA’s approval for the S622 EFT,” the company said. “With this, Sailun now has a steer, drive and trailer tire that are SmartWay verified. The EFT – Environmentally Friendly Technology – program was created to develop tires that help reduce our environmental footprint. Receiving approval from EPA is validation of the work we’ve done and although this is a great achievement of our green initiatives, our work does not end here. We’ll continue to research and test new ways to reduce our carbon footprint, from the manufacturing process to the product itself.”
