RimTyme locations in Columbus, Ohio, and Lexington, Ky., will each host a car show with proceeds going to charity.
All proceeds from the Sept. 24 show at the Columbus RimTyme store, located at 3810 E. Main St., will go directly to cancer and burn patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a pediatric facility that provides comprehensive care to children and parents in central Ohio and worldwide.
“We are more than happy to donate our time and proceeds to Nationwide Children’s Hospital because they really make a difference for families here in Columbus. I personally believe the more people we can we help, the more good it does for the community and our store,” said owner Shawn DiLeo. “It’s all about ‘People Helping People,’ which is a motto we live by. Plus, supporting others makes us feel good, and demonstrating a positive image means a lot to our customers.”
Proceeds from the Sept. 17 show at RimTyme of Lexington, located at 420 E. New Circle Rd., will go to the Hope Center, a non-profit organization that provides shelter, food, clothing and comprehensive life-rebuilding services to at-risk and homeless individuals.
“We’re really excited to get the neighborhood together and lend a hand to those in need through the Hope Center. It will be a great day full of impressive rides and fun for the entire family; best of all, it’s for a good cause,” DiLeo said. “Our goal is to showcase a collection of more than 100 cars at the event, so we invite car enthusiasts and dealers to get involved.”
Both car shows will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on their respective dates. The events will feature trophies for each class of vehicles, door prizes, 50/50 raffles, free food and more.
A similar event was held over the weekend at DiLeo’s RimTyme of Indianapolis location. That car show, held Sept. 11, benefited cancer and burn patients at the Riley Hospital for Children, a pediatric institution that provides compassionate care, support and comfort to children and their families.
Headquartered in Plano, Texas, RimTyme currently has 20 wheel and tire stores in 11 states. RimTyme is an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Rent-A-Center.
