In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Radar Tires, the flagship tire brand of Singapore-based Omni United, will be hitting the road in October, hosting events at tire dealerships nationwide in support of "Mobilizing Hope," the brand’s partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Earlier this year, the tiremaker pledged a donation of $1 to BCRF for each set of four Radar RPX800 and DIMAX tires sold over the next year, with a committed minimum annual donation of $250,000 and a goal of raising $1 million. To raise awareness of the initiative and to further support BCRF, Radar has turned to its campaign affiliated retailers across the country to “Mobilize Hope” in their communities throughout the month of October.
“Our partnership with BCRF has engaged everyone at Omni,” said GS Sareen, president and CEO of Omni United. “We are delighted and grateful that so many distributors and retailers of Radar Tires are supporting our ‘Mobilizing Hope’ initiative in their local communities. Their help is instrumental to make it a success."
Participating Omni retailers will host a variety of events, charity drives and fundraisers for the cause.
At its Mobile, Ala., location, Airport Salvage employees clad in pink polos will educate customers on the cause and will promote the sale of Radar’s RPX800 and DIMAX tires with in-store displays to raise funds for BCRF. Supporting the cause in a similar way are: Discount Tire & Brake, with three locations in Arkansas; Budget Tire Center, with three locations in Michigan; Walker Tire, with nine locations in Nebraska; Grismer Tire & Auto Service, with 22 locations in Ohio; and Harris Tire in Portsmouth, Va.
At its 33 locations across Florida, The Tire Choice will host “Ladies Day” each Wednesday, giving a discount to all customers wearing pink. Customers who pledge their support to Mobilizing Hope on The Tire Choice website will also receive a coupon for 10% off any service purchase. Also, The Tire Choice will host a customized pre-game “Fan Zone” experience at the University of South Florida homecoming game vs. Cincinnati, in Tampa on Oct. 22. Radar’s Mobilizing Hope campaign video will be played on the stadium’s video board pre-game and during half-time. To show their personal commitment to this campaign, owners Dan and Diane Hennelly will make an additional donation of $1 for every Radar RPX800 and DIMAX tire sold.
American Tire & Auto Center, with six locations in New Jersey, will host a kickoff "pep rally" at each retail location. The “Mobilizing Hope” campaign will also be integrated into American Tire’s tent sales. The dealership also will match Radar’s donation for each Radar tire sold.
In addition to educating customers and supporting the cause, Raleigh Tire, with four locations in Tennessee, will have involvement with a local high school to further engage the community to join the campaign and support the cause.
