P&G Exec Named to Goodyear Board

The vice chairman of Procter & Gamble Co. is the latest P&G executive to join Goodyear – this time on the board of directors.

Werner Geissler, vice chairman of global operations, has been elected to the Goodyear board. Geissler, 57, joined P&G in 1979, and served in various capacities in brand and general management at P&G. He led operations in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and helped integrate several acquired businesses during his career. He was named vice chairman of global operations in 2007.

“Werner brings to our board of directors more than three decades of valuable experience in brand and business leadership,” said Rich Kramer, chairman and CEO. “His consumer marketing expertise, along with his international insights, will be an asset as we continue to carry out our global strategy in 2011 and beyond.”

With the addition of Geissler, 11 of Goodyear’s current 13 board members are independent directors.

GRI recently conducted programs in Sri Lanka to empower women and motivate children under its Green x Circle initiative. The company said these endeavors aimed to address the needs of the community, focusing on both women empowerment and youth motivation.

GRI recently organized a training program titled "Management of household finance under current economic conditions" at the Ingiriya Rubber Collecting Center in Sri Lanka, South Asia led by Shashika Nimali, an NLP practitioner and life coach. The company said this initiative provided women in the industry with essential skills and knowledge to effectively manage household finances. GRI's tailored training sessions equipped participants with tools for informed decision-making, ultimately fostering greater financial security and independence, the company said.
