OTC Offers Upgraded TPMS Software

(Akron/Tire Review) OTC has added new software update kits for its OTC Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), which feature the latest software for the more than 170 models previously covered as well as information on some 100 new 2007 models.

The company said that the software includes diagnostic vehicle information covering more than 1,000 make-year-model combinations for easy and accurate access to the proper vehicle interface. Its new Auto Scan diagnostic capability “further simplifies operation by automatically scanning for good or bad TPMS sensors and activating any wheel TPMS sensors,” OTC said.

“Our TPM kits with the latest version 2.7 software and new Auto Scan feature provide our customers with the most comprehensive information they need to service any direct or indirect TPMS-equipped vehicle,” said OTC Product Manager Robert Kochie.

For current owners of the OTC TPM, the 2006-2007 Software Update Kits (P/N 3833-11 and P/N 3833-9) are available. The Model 3833-11 Kit is available to all OTC TPM Tools that have version 2.2 or older software and includes V 2.7 software, update cable and supplement quick-reference guide containing the critical reset procedures, along with all of the system information including torque specifications.

The Model 3833-9 Kit includes all the above plus a digital tire pressure gauge, four-way valve tool, valve core torque driver, rechargeable batteries and charger, application flip chart, service procedure wall flowchart, consumer poster, and CD training video, OTC said.
