Nexen Tyre Corp. is supporting the "Pink Ribbon" international campaign against breast cancer in South Korea for the first time.
The tiremaker said it wants to increase awareness of the illness and highlight the importance of regular check-ups.
The first part of Nexen’s support saw the company distribute free tickets to a baseball game featuring the Nexen Heroes, which took place in Mokdong Stadium in Seoul. Nexen has been the main team sponsor since February 2011.
At the game, women could gather relevant literature at a stand and register to win a set of eco-friendly Nexen N’Blue Eco tires. In addition, throughout October there were numerous events dedicated to women as well as discount offers on purchasing tires, with free tire checks at the Tyre Tech sales branches just for the ladies.
The “Pink Ribbon” initiative, which started in the early 1990s, has also played a part in South Korea since 2001. Nexen’s support of the campaign started this year as part of Nexen’s efforts toward social engagement with a wider public. Nexen’s involvement with various social activities will further highlight its contribution in the future. (Tyres & Accessories)
