The site – at www.MyShocks.com – was developed as part of Monroe’s “Safety Triangle” campaign and emphasizes the suggested 50,000-mile shock/strut replacement schedule and the importance of frequently inspecting ride control components, said Tenneco.
The new site also features a consumer safety video about the importance of inspections on safety-critical chassis components and the role ride control components play in driving.
“As an industry, we’re educating consumers about the importance of monitoring key ride control components,” said Richard Alameddine, vice president of marketing for Tenneco. “Degradation occurs gradually and over thousands of miles depending on the vehicle owner’s style of driving and road conditions. This makes it increasingly difficult to recognize the negative effects – reduced steering precision, stopping performance and reduced vehicle stability. Ride control components play a unique role in steering, stopping and stability, and, most importantly, safety.”
