Maxxis Takes the Stage

(Douglasdale, South Africa/S.A. Treads) With the ongoing proliferation of foreign tyre brands into our market, one could easily be forgiven for mistaking a credible import for a dubious one.

But now and again, we do stumble across some reputable foreign newcomers that rightfully deserve to share the trading arena with historical greats like Michelin, Pirelli and Bridgestone. Hankook and Kumho (Korea) were two such brands. They entered our market some years back and have gone on to achieve great things. We are about to see the introduction of another one in the form of Maxxis.

First established in Taiwan in 1967, the Maxxis range of tyres has become a world-recognized brand with operations in Canada, China, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and the U.S. and product distribution in more than 130 countries.

Worldwide revenue – currently at close on $1 billion – has tripled in the past 10 years with the company now producing a complete range of passenger, bus, truck, light truck, bicycle, motorcycle, ATV, race kart, trailer, industrial and lawn and garden tyres.

Notable accolades include OE fitment to Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi and Hyundai in Asia, four-time winner of Shanghai GM Best Supplier Award, two-time winner of Ford Motor Co. World Excellence Award and OE supplier to Ford and General Motors in North America.

Maxxis (Cheng Shin Rubber Ind. Co. Ltd) is currently ranked the number-one tyre company in Taiwan and number 13 on the global front.

SA tyre dealers looking to augment their product range and their bottom line are invited to call Jon of Maxxis at 076 9096540 for more information on Maxxis’ special introductory offers to the SA market.
