Marangoni Launches Ringbuilder 3000

(Staffordshire, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) For Marangoni Retreading Systems, its Ringtread retreading technology is guided by the concept of a “production island,” – a highly automated multi-purpose work centre with input of raw materials (compounds and tyre for retreading) and output of the end product (the retreaded tyre).

The result of this philosophy is the new generation of “Ringbuilder” building machines, in version 3000 for large retreading firms and 2500 for medium-sized retreaders. Taking up from where the previous RB2500 left off, the RB 3000 further develops the concept of high-level automation and throughput.

With one single fully automated machine, the Ringbuilder allows you to extrude the cushion gum directly onto the casing, fill the cratering, apply the ring and adequately roll it, thus obtaining a tyre ready for the curing process.

The RB 3000 therefore combines two of the most critical phases of the retreading process, application of the cushion gum and application of the Ringtread, the advantage being that these two phases can be run simultaneously since the machine is provided with two spindles. These spindles allow you to work at the same time on two tyres, in 180° opposite positions: the cushion gum is applied on one side, the Ringtread on the other. All the operations are part of a completely automated cycle, which guarantees high productivity, savings on labour costs and shorter working times. The RB 3000 is a machine designed for large retreading firms who wish to fully exploit all the advantages connected with the use of the Ringtread technology in the cold retreading process up to a maximum production of 240 Ringtread retreaded tyres per 8-hour shift.

Vito Antonio Magistrale, technical manager of Marangoni Retreading Systems, maintains that “the RB 3000 is part of a range of new generation machinery, able to guarantee exceptional increases in efficiency, yield and quality of the cold retreading processes.”

The first RB 3000s have been installed in Canada and the U.S., markets characterised by the presence of large retreading firms and widespread use of Ringtread.

The division has an annual turnover of over 130 million euros (60% in Europe, 40% in the rest of the world) and six production plants, three of which are in Italy, one in Germany in Hamburg, one in the U.S. in Nashville and one in Brazil in Belo Horizonte, with an overall workforce of 500 people, 350 of whom are in Europe and 150 in the other countries.
