The recently held Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo was hailed as a "resounding success" by attendees and event organizers alike.
Held at the Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City, Panama, the late July event hosted some 3,000 thousand dealers and 200 exhibitors from 80 countries.
Among the exhibitors were Sailun, Triangle, Bridgestone, Tiremaxx/Maxxis, Euromaster, Michelin, GT Radial, Rosava, Ceat, Apollo, BKT, TGI and Aeolus, among many others.
Grupo Sailun Latin America CEO Gustavo Lima presided over the opening ceremony, joined on stage by Marco Zigni, president of Grupo Sailun Latin America; Manny Cicero, president of Alliance Tire Group; Jaime Szulc, president of Goodyear Latin America; Sergio Zanini, managing director of Cluster Commercial Latin America; Wang Jianye, general manager of Sailun; and James Sun, marketing manager of Sailun.
“Our vision is to bring global manufacturers and suppliers directly to the Latin markets and to get the Latin dealers to those manufacturers in a familiar venue,” said Linda Bassitt, show director.
Guest speakers during sessions included Cicero; Heriberto Romero, director general of Hules Banda in Mexico; Carlos de Araujo, director of operations for Bridgestone Colombia; Sylvia Alfaro, environmental manager of Bridgestone Costa Rica; Robert Sherkin, president of Dynamic Tire in Canada; John Powath, publisher of Rubber Asia; and TRIB managing director David Stevens.
