Hankook Tire America Corp. has awarded one lucky baseball fan a Ford Explorer Limited as part of its Great Catch 2011 giveaway.
Hankook President Soo II Lee was on hand at a recent Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park in Detroit, Mich., to present Teresa Holder with the key to her new vehicle on-field before the first pitch.
Holder, a Jonesboro, Ind., resident and medical center IT specialist, won out of 44,000 entries submitted for the giveaway. “I’m really excited to have won,” she said. “This is an amazing prize from Hankook, and I definitely know what kind of tires I’ll be buying from now on!”
Following the pre-game presentation ceremony, Holder and her husband joined Lee in a VIP suite to watch the game against the Kansas City Royals. Holder also received a signed baseball from Tigers right fielder Magglio Ordonez.
The Great Catch giveaway is Hankook’s third baseball-themed promotion in the past two years. “We’re focused on investing in promotions, marketing and sponsorship opportunities, allowing us to engage consumers on our way to furthering our status as a top-tier tire company in the U.S.,” Lee said.
The 2011 Ford Explorer Limited comes factory-equipped with Hankook’s Optimo H426 Luxury Performance Touring All-Season tires. The tire features a unique rib-block design and silica rubber compound to provide a quiet, comfortable ride in all seasons. With its lower rolling resistance and superior tread, the tire provides all-season performance traction and better fuel economy, according to Hankook.
