Printed and mailed newsletters are a great way to build customerknowledge about your products and services – and confidence in your expertise.But with postage and printing, paper newsletters are expensive.

An e-newsletter costs just afraction of a printed piece. All you need is information to offer, time toassemble a great looking newsletter and e-mail addresses so you can send thefinished product to customers.

There are plenty of softwareproducts that can help you create a sharp e-newsletter. Microsoft’s Web siteeven has free downloads of newsletter templates already set-up in Word.

Because e-newsletters arehighly targeted, you reach only those who are most likely to buy your productor service. Moreover, as the number of people you will reach will be far lessthan with a newspaper advertisement or broad direct mail piece, you will pay afraction of the cost and get better results.

Want to really generatesales? Add a number of tire and/or service coupons to each newsletter issue –and make sure each coupon has a clearly indicated expiration date. With a cleardate by which to act, many customers will quickly make appointments. Beconsistent and make sure to include coupons with each issue.

What else to include? Howabout a rundown on hot selling tires or new employees? Educate customers onvehicle services with short items explaining how and why, for example, discpads need to be changed. Add some tire maintenance tips and fun car facts theymight be interested in. Promote upcoming specials and sales, or announcementyour dealership’s involvement in community projects and groups.
