A former employee of Landers Toyota in Little Rock, Ark., is facing two lawsuits from the dealership – one for stealing tires and accessories from Landers and another for fraud and conspiracy, according to Arkansas Business.
The former employee worked for the dealership from January 2014 until the end of May when the dealership fired him. He has been charged with a felony for stealing $441,000 in tires and accessories from Landers.
During his time with Landers Toyota, the accused used JBM Tire & Wholesale LLC of Malvern as his supplier. The lawsuit states he sent shipments sent straight to his house and would “take action to remove evidence” of orders from Landers’ computers.
The lawsuit also accused JBM and its owners of billing Landers and falsely reporting products were delivered to the dealership. Landers Toyota paid for all of the items sent to the former employee’s home. It is not known where the tires were sent from there.
The dealership has also named JBM and its owners as defendants in the lawsuit and is seeking $441,000 plus other damages.
A trial is scheduled for January.
