Ecological innovations will take pride of place at the European Tyre Recycling Association’s 17th European Conference on Tyre Recycling in Brussels on Mar. 17-19.
The themed event will comprise a “Pyrolisys Forum” during the ETRA Assembly Meeting, including the presentation of research studies on tire recycling materials and their employment on road sector and civil enginery, rubberized bitumen and asphalt, buildings and concrete, thermoplastics, thermal and acoustic insulation.
New projects in the tire recycling field, such as TyGRe, will also be the subject for presentations; two projects, one in Italy and one in Portugal, have focused on the functional and innovative uses of post-consumer tire material.
Furthermore, the conference will include exhibitions of tire recycling products, such as rubber kerbs and rubber tiles for urban furniture or sport facilities, rubber flooring and artificial turf. There will also be a poster show about innovations in tire recycling products and materials by industry, universities and technical centers; round table discussions about the growing importance of waste recycling materials, first of all tire recycling materials, and their use to replace virgin resources.
