Federal-Mogul Motorparts has given away $2,500 scholarships to 12 students to help them achieve their goal of becoming a top technician. The scholarships were awarded in conjunction with the launch of the company’s Garage Gurus technical education network.
“As one of the auto care industry’s leading suppliers of premium branded parts, we embrace the responsibility to help attract and support each new generation of talented automotive service professionals,” said Brent Berman, director of training and consumer experience for Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “We look forward to the day when each of these students begins their career in the service bay, and hope they will take advantage of the ongoing technical education we provide to working professionals through the Garage Gurus network.”
Earning scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year are:
- Austin Cadman of Colorado Springs, Colo., attending New Mexico Junior College
- Scott Cleaver, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, attending Iowa Western Community College
- Bridget Clifford, of California, Mo., attending University of Northwestern Ohio
- Jessica Fluhr, of East Bardstown, Ky., attending Elizabethtown Comm. and Tech. College
- Aidan Hicks, of Eden Prairie, Minn., attending Dunwoody College of Technology
- Summer Miller, of Decatur, Texas, attending Brookhaven College
- Daniel Mojica, of Kissimmee, Fla., attending Universal Technical Institute
- Alexander Morais, of Danbury, Conn., attending Universal Technical Institute
- Robert Morantes, of South Lyon, Mich., attending Henry Ford College
- Christopher Polcar, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, attending University of Northwestern Ohio
- Billy Tipton, of Green Mountain, N.C., attending Asheville-Buncombe Tech. Comm. College
