Dickies announced a line of anti-slip footwear featuring Michelin branded technical soles at the 2015 SEMA Show.
The new specialty footwear line is the first of its kind in the North American specialty work segment, Dickies said in a press release.
Three shoe designs are part of the new line: the Apex, Charge and Dash.
The shoes’ soles feature the Wcx (work compound extreme) rubber compound that Dickies said is resistant to chemicals, minerals and oil and is an anti-slip, anti-abrasive and non-marking compound. The compound and tread design was inspired by the Michelin City Pro motorbike tire.
Much like the design of a tire, the siped shoulder sculptures on the shoes provide stability, deep grooves evacuate liquids, a high-edged tread design provides traction and a multi-directional pattern helps the shoe adhere to slippery surfaces, Dickies said.
The shoes also feature memory foam insoles, padded collar and tongue, moisture-wicking linings and spill resistant and polishable uppers.
JV International, the Italian company that designs, develops and manufactures the Michelin branded technical soles is working with Dickies as part of the footwear partnership.
