Dealer Chairs Charity Poker Run

A record-breaking crowd turned out for the seventh annual Redwood City Poker Run on May 14, an event that raised $46,000 to support Redwood City Police Activities, San Mateo County Sheriffs Activities League and the Redwood City After School Programs.Barbara (right) with local officer.

Alpio Barbara, owner and president of Redwood General Tire and an active organizer of the poker run, and American Tire Distributors’ Tire Pros program was a sponsor of the event. Redwood General Tire is a 2007 finalist in the Tire Review Top Shop program.

According to Barbara, 307 motorcycles and 350 bikers and guests participated. The event included a full barbecue lunch, a raffle and a day-long ride. The ride was assisted by the California Highway Patrol and the San Mateo County Sheriffs Department.
