TIA has set its host hotel and announced preliminary plans for the 2011 Global Tire Expo.
Part of the 2011 SEMA Show, taking place Oct. 31 through Nov. 4 in Las Vegas, the GTE will be based at the new Cosmopolitan Hotel in the city. The TIA GTE room rate is $159/night, and room availability is limited. To reserve a room, dealers should call 800-221-3531, or visit the "Events" section of tireindustry.org.
TIA also said its successful "TPMS @ 10," "Truck Tires @ 10," "Tires @ 2" and "Management @ 4" educational session tracks will continue, and a new “Green @ Noon” track will be added.
The new session will feature leading experts, who will discuss environmental issues in the tire industry and how they can impact and benefit tire dealers.
On the opening night of the GTE/SEMA Show, TIA will hold its three main special events the Wine & Cheese Social, Tire Industry Honors and the TIA Welcome Reception.
The Wine & Cheese Social will start at 5 p.m. on Oct. 31, and admission is free for all TIA members and show attendees. Immediately following the Wine & Cheese Social from 6 to 7:30 p.m. will be Tire Industry Honors, during which the Tire Industry Hall of Fame Class of 2011 will be inducted, and the leadership of TIA will pass from current President Mike Berra to the incoming president Larry Brandt.
In addition, Tire Review’s Top Shop Award winner will be honored, and Modern Tire Dealer will recognize the outgoing TIA president. Admission to this event is also complimentary to all show attendees, but an RSVP is required.
Immediately following these events from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. will be TIA’s annual Welcome Reception at the Cosmopolitan’s Bamboo Pool. Tickets are $65 per person; they may be ordered by visiting the "Events" section of tireindustry.org, or by calling 800-876-8372, ext. 104.
