As of June 1, prices for Continental’s summer tires sold in Germany will increase by an average of 3% and winter tires by an average of 5%.
While that increase is only for the German market, Hartmut Wöhler, Conti’s head of marketing and distribution in Europe and Africa, stated the company is “currently preparing to implement these price increases right across Europe.”
Continental comments that the cost of natural rubber has more than doubled, whilst oil has become approximately 80% more expensive than in the previous year. The price increases will apply to the Continental, Uniroyal, Semperit and Barum brands. (Tyres & Accessories)
