Coats Balancer Makes Diagnostics Fast And Easy

The Coats ProRide Diagnostic tire/wheel balancer features touchless radial runout diagnostics and wheel weight location recognition.

Hennessy Industries unveiled its brand-new Coats ProRide Diagnostic tire/wheel balancer.

First shown at the recent SEMA Show/Global Tire Expo, the ProRide Series balancer, available in standard clamp and pneumatic locking models, was designed to make wheel diagnostics fast, easy and accurate, the company said.

The ProRide Series features touchless radial runout diagnostics and wheel weight location recognition. “Accurate runout measurements help to quickly identify troublesome tires and wheels, and cycle times are fast enough to use on every assembly,” the company said. “Selecting the weight mode and starting the balance is as simple as pulling the distance arm to the desired location and lowering the hood.”

“The ProRide Series was conceived with the busiest tire shop technicians in mind,” said Kevin Keefe, Hennessy Industries’ vice president of marketing. “From the simple, interactive user interface to the smaller footprint, it’s all about shop efficiency.”

Up to four technicians can save their preferred settings independently, and the intuitive Static on Screen display simultaneously presents static and dynamic data to identify any excess residual static imbalance.

The standard clamp locking model features a threaded shaft for more traditional mounting, and the Diagnostic PL model features a pneumatic locking mounting system, which reduces mounting time by several seconds, Hennessy said. Operators simply hold the assembly in place and press the foot pedal to activate the pneumatic cylinder, which applies a consistent pressure on each wheel and helps eliminate mounting errors. The assembly automatically locks in place at the proper weight placement location.
