A Texas tire dealership is attempting to recoup its loss after two checks equaling $7,500 bounced.
A customer called Freeman Tire Co. in Midland, Texas, last week to purchase 16 truck tires, according to local media report. The customer requested that the tire business deliver the tires to a service station in Odessa, Texas, instead of coming in to pick them up. The store’s manager told the customer that he’d prefer them to come into the office.
On Saturday, March 21, two men and a woman came to pick up the tires, paying Freeman Tire with two $3,4843 checks, according to media reports. When the store’s manager verified the funds on Monday, March 23, he found out that the checks were bad.
The store manager has attempted to reach the suspects.
The Midland Sheriff’s Office has asked anyone with information to call.
Because the amount was over $1,500, the suspects could face felony charges, according to local reports.
