Apollo Tyres Joins TyreSafe

Vredestein UK managing director Stuart Jackson also serves as the chairman of TyreSafe, so it is safe to say he is pleased to welcome the safety organization’s latest member: Vredestein’s parent company Apollo Tyres.

Upon Apollo joining the TyreSafe ranks, Jackson said, "TyreSafe continues to grow from strength to strength. However, more than the number of members, it’s the high level of involvement and participation from these members that’s important for us. Since Apollo has been actively engaged in safe drive initiatives – promoting safety on the roads in the Asian region – their association with TyreSafe would result in both organizations using each other’s expertise towards the cause of safety on the roads in the U.K."

Since its inception in 2006, TyreSafe’s activities have helped reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in tire-related incidents by 38%. However, each year more than 1,200 people in the U.K. still lose their lives or get injured in accidents due to illegal, defective or underinflated tires.

GRI recently conducted programs in Sri Lanka to empower women and motivate children under its Green x Circle initiative. The company said these endeavors aimed to address the needs of the community, focusing on both women empowerment and youth motivation.

GRI recently organized a training program titled "Management of household finance under current economic conditions" at the Ingiriya Rubber Collecting Center in Sri Lanka, South Asia led by Shashika Nimali, an NLP practitioner and life coach. The company said this initiative provided women in the industry with essential skills and knowledge to effectively manage household finances. GRI's tailored training sessions equipped participants with tools for informed decision-making, ultimately fostering greater financial security and independence, the company said.
