Matador Gains Trailer OE Contract

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) In September 2005, Matador Deutschland started negotiating a mutual cooperation agreement with trailer and semi-trailer producer Krone Co.

One month later, the first shipments had already been carried out.

Matador shipped 1986 TH1 size 385/65R22.5 tyres. The Slovakia tyre manufacturer now says it is planning to deliver 12,000 to 15,000 more to Krone, covering about 10% of the German company’s needs.

Krone Co. is the second biggest European producer of trailers, semi-trailers and cooler units with a 25 per cent market share. At its Werlte plant, Krone produces 19,000 trailers and semi-trailers units per year.  The product line consists of trailers, linkage systems, semi-trailers and motor vehicle bodies. Since April 2000, Krone has produced approximately 2,200 cooler units per year at the plant in Denmark.
