The test confirmed the result published last month carried out by U.S. magazine, Sport Rider, which compared the top road tyres on the market. The Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier was pitched against the latest offerings from Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Avon, Metzeler and Continental in a gruelling assessment of traction, braking, steering response and general handling qualities.
In this test, PS Magazine stated: "In the category of sport tyres three challengers, Metzeler Sportec M3, Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier, competed against the reference-tyre Pirelli Diablo Corsa. The Qualifier could easily cope with the enormous power of the R1. None of the other tyres was that good in the ability of tracking precision. Congratulations Dunlop!"
The Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier is designed as a road tyre, slotting into the range between track orientated tyres, such as the GP Racer and D208RR, and the sport touring range of tyres, such as the D220ST.
