John Church Steps Down from Group Tyre

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) Group Tyre (UK) Ltd. Chairman John Church is to step down from Apr. 1 because of health reasons.

According to an official statement, the decision was agreed mutually by Church and Group Tyre and fully supported by the managing directors of all Group Tyre member companies.

As a result, Larry Cross will increasingly taking up the role of coordinating director, as well as there being a greater input from the other managing directors of Group Tyre member companies. Group Tyre’s head office management will reside with Karl Naylor, director of commercial operations; Nick Manning, director of purchasing (who assumes this responsibility from Cross); and John Dunleavy, financial controller.

Cal Ganda’s path from Zimbabwe to leading aftermarket distribution at Continental’s ContiTech Group is a testament to seizing opportunities and embracing change. Arriving in the U.S. in 1998 for university, he ventured into food manufacturing post-graduation before diving into consulting.

A chance encounter with Continental during a consulting project in Mexico led Cal to discover an opportunity in tire assembly supervision in Charlotte. This marked the beginning of his journey with Continental, where he embraced various roles, from tire assembly to logistics and process engineering.
