ACCC Names Kravitz as Chairman

(Akron/Tire Review) American Car Care Centers Inc. (ACCC) has appointed Ben Kravitz as its new chairman of the board of directors, effective Oct. 1.

Kravitz is the president of Brockton, Mass.-based Summit Tire. He replaces John Boyle, who had been chairman the past two years.

An ACCC member distributor since 1999, Summit Tire operates three distribution centers serving Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut. The tire distributor also operates seven retail stores and carries American Radial, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Continental, General, Delta, Falken and Yokohama brands.

In a statement announcing his appointment, Kravitz outlined his objectives, which include continuing to build consistencies into the program, maintaining and enhancing ACCC’s position in the industry, growing membership at all levels and continuing to develop vendor relationships.

“The ACCC program has been instrumental in our growth and provides our dealers with invaluable marketing support,” said Kravitz. “I believe that independent dealers need a program like ACCC, which fills a void once served by the tire manufacturers. What sets the member/distributors of ACCC apart is the fact that we are all independent tire dealers and know what it takes to be successful.”

“Ben has been a strong supporter of ACCC. He has built a loyal, committed group of dealers in the northeast; we are excited to have Ben take on the responsibility and help lead the group to the next plateau,” said recently appointed CEO Len Lewin.
