Schrader Introduces New TPMS Products

(Akron/Tire Review) Schrader Bridgeport International, Inc. announced the addition of several new products to the company’s AirAware TPMS product line.

Eight new TPMS sensors are now available for 2007/2008 applications. The new sensors provide coverage for: Dodge Dakota and Ram; Mercedes-Benz C, CL, CLK, and SLK Class; Mitsubishi Eclipse; Nissan 350Z, Altima, Murano, Pathfinder, Sentra, Versa, and Xterra; Saab 9-3; Subaru Forester, Impreza, Legacy and Outback; and Suzuki Grand Vitara and SX4. Schrader now offers a total of 33 TPMS sensors for the aftermarket.

Schrader also has added ten new TPMS service packs for Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, Volvo, and Volkswagen applications. Schrader now offers 25 TPMS service packs for popular makes and models. Schrader AirAware service packs include all necessary caps, cores, grommets and nuts. OEM specifications call for these components to be replaced every time tires and rims on a TPMS-equipped vehicle are serviced.

Most late-model Nissan vehicles require a special procedure and tool to put TPMS into the “learn” mode. The new Schrader Nissan Reset Trigger Tool makes the procedure easy and allows independent tire repair shops to perform Nissan TPMS maintenance.

The new Schrader Grommet Removal tool is designed to safely remove the rubber grommet from the aluminum stem of a TPMS sensor. Often, the grommet becomes stuck on the valve stem and has to be pried off with a knife, potentially damaging the stem. This exclusive patent-pending Schrader tool makes the process simple and easy.

Schrader has added seven new accessory part numbers to the AirAware line, including green valve caps to indicate tires filled with nitrogen; long replacement valve caps for snap-in TPMS sensors; and chrome and aluminum dress-up kits that slip over the valve stem – another Schrader exclusive.

The 2007 edition of the Mitchell-1TPMS Guide, released in August, is now available from Schrader. This guide contains all the latest application data through 2007 for TPMS-equipped passenger cars and light trucks.

“These new additions to the AirAware product line make TPMS service easier and more profitable for our customers,” said David Weber, TPMS product manager for Schrader. “And the Grommet Removal Tool and valve dress-up kits are available only from Schrader.”

The complete line of Schrader AirAware™ products includes TPMS systems, components and tools that meet OE quality and performance specifications.
