Barbara, whose single-store dealership was a finalist in the 2007 Tire Review Top Shop Awards, has long been a volunteer with the Redwood City Police Activities League, and currently serves as president of its board.
The Redwood City Police Activities League runs a variety of youth sports and after-school programs.
During his tenure, the Redwood City PAL has grown significantly, and opened a 15,000-square-foot community center in 2004.
"He is a great fundraiser, very well-connected within the community," said Capt. Chris Cesena of the Redwood City police department. "Alpio gives his heart and soul to the program, and is very passionate about helping the kids in the community."
Barbara will receive the award next month in Denver at the National PAL’s annual meeting. (Tire Review/Akron)
