Jack Williams Tire Celebrates 80th Anniversary

Jack Williams Tire kicked off its 80th anniversary celebration on Mar. 22, as part of its annual conference and trade show.

Held at the company’s Moosic, Pa., headquarters, the event also showcased Jack Williams Tire’s recent 50,000-square-foot addition to the existing 135,000-square-foot facility.

Some 600 wholesale customers and their families attended the show, the dealer said, and 25 suppliers were on hand displaying the latest in tires, automotive service equipment and aftermarket parts.

Jack Williams, Sr. opened the first Jack Williams Tire store inKingston, Pa., in 1929. Today, the dealership includes 25 retail storesand four wholesale centers that service Pennsylvania, New York and NewJersey. Carrying on the family tradition are (L to R): Jason Williams,Tracey Williams, Bill Williams, Sandi Williams, Scott Williams andStephanie Williams.

"The event was an overwhelming success, a record,” said Bill Williams, chairman and CEO, "We exceeded our goals for attendance and for sales. Our dealers were able to tour the facility and see what we are all about. Our vendors were surprised by the turnout and by the record number of orders that were placed. It is especially encouraging to see that in a down-turned economy, so many independent tire dealers are making the investment in their equipment, and inventory; ultimately their business."
