The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced that Jim Hobart will be the guest speaker for the 10th annual Tire Industry Honors event.
Hobart, a Republican pollster and partner at Public Opinion Strategies, a national political research firm, will give attendees a look into the 2018 midterms just a week before Election Day and detail how the midterm results will affect the final two years of President Trump’s first term.
Over the past four election cycles, Hobart has been a part of the polling team in some of the most competitive elections in the country. In 2013, he received the Rising Star Award from Campaign and Elections Magazine. In 2016, Hobart and Glen Bolger were the pollsters for a successful independent expenditure effort in the Pennsylvania Senate race, which was the largest outside effort in any Senate race in the country.
In 2012, Hobart directed research for two new Republican members of Congress, as well as for the Republican Governor’s Association Independent Expenditure campaign in North Carolina, the only gubernatorial campaign in the country to change partisan control. He was also the project director for the successful campaign to defeat Proposal Two in Michigan, which played a key role in Michigan becoming a Right to Work State just one month later.
In the public affairs arena, Hobart was part of research efforts focused on education and energy. In 2014, his work focused on independent expenditure efforts that helped Republicans win a decisive majority in the U.S. Senate and expand their majority in the U.S. House. He worked to conduct polling on behalf of SuperPACs in winning Senate campaigns in Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia and Kansas and also conducted polling on the behalf of IE efforts in 11 winning U.S. House campaigns.
Along with his political work, Hobart also has a significant amount of corporate and public affairs polling experience. He has directed the research on projects for numerous Fortune 100 clients, including Bank of America, Wal-Mart and Verizon and appears regularly on C-SPAN, CNN, NPR, Sky News and Hill TV to comment on polling and campaign politics.
