An owner of a tire shop has been arrested after police accused the man of selling stolen tires.

According to the San Bernadino County Sheriffs Department, suspects cut through a wrought iron fence to enter a tire distribution center on Valley Boulevard in the unincorporated area of Fontana, California. While on the property, they forced entry into a secured storage shipment container and stole nearly 40 tires recently received from an overseas distributor.

The theft was noticed on Sept. 17, and the sheriff’s department started an investigation. The following day, investigators from the Fontana Sheriff’s Department found similar tires posted for sale online. After searching a QuickStop Automotive and Tire Center in San Bernardino, investigators recovered the property reported stolen during the burglary. The business was then identified as selling the stolen tires, the Fontana Sheriff’s Department said..

The owner of the Quick Stop, Arturo Guzman, 41, of San Bernardino, was arrested on possession of stolen property. He was booked into West Valley Detention Center where his bail was set at $10,000.

Investigators have located several associated incidents and believe there are other unidentified victims as well, the sheriff’s department said.
