Mitchell 1 Launches Connected Car Interface

Mitchell 1's new Connected Car Interface promises to simplify the diagnostic process for the growing number of interconnected sensors installed in vehicles.

Mitchell 1 launched a new interface to help shops work with telematics devices. Debuted during the 2017 AAPEX Show, the Manager SE Connected Car Interface helps shops take a proactive approach to solving issues for their customers before they arrive in shop.

When a customer’s vehicle is having an issue, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be sent straight to a shop. The alert shows up as a new icon in the Manager SE dashboard, and shows the vehicle VIN, mileage, and the DTC that has been triggered, Mitchell 1 shared. This gives the shop valuable information before the vehicle enters its bay.

With the information from the alert a shop can start their diagnostic process with a quick look up in ProDemand to identify common repairs related to the DTC. Meanwhile a the service writer can contact the vehicle owner to assure them that they are aware of the situation and are ready to confirm the diagnosis and start the repair as soon as the vehicle arrives in the shop, the company said.

Working together with Entricit, Mitchell 1’s Manger SE can connect with several different telematics devices.
