Yokohama UK Wins TyreSafe Award

The Yokohama Rubber Co.’s United Kingdom tire sales subsidiary Yokohama H.P.T. Ltd. (YHPT) was honored with the Tyre Manufacturer of the Year award at the 2016 TyreSafe Awards.

YHPT received the award in recognition for its tire safety campaign with the English Premier League’s Chelsea Football Club in October 2016, which is TyreSafe’s annual Tyre Safety Month.

During the campaign, members of the Chelsea FC Ladies team highlighted the importance of tire safety checks in a special video on the stadium’s main screen at three Chelsea FC matches at its home stadium at Stamford Bridge.

TyreSafe is a nonprofit organization in the UK that promotes tire safety awareness to encourage drivers to regularly check tire pressure and tread wear.

At one of its South Florida NTW distribution centers, as well as TBC Corp.'s Palm Beach Gardens corporate offices, TBC employees recently had the opportunity to show their children the ins and outs of the company's role in the tire industry during "Take Your Child to Work Day." The kids had a jam-packed day learning about tires, taking photos, doing media research, and even eating lunch with the company's new CEO, Don Byrd.
