Continental Achieves 1 Million Retread Milestone

On Oct. 29 near 1 p.m., Continental set a new record of 1 million retreads at its ContiLifeCycle facility located in Morelia, in the Mexican state of Michoacán.

The ContiLifeCycle plant, which began operations Dec. 1, 2010, serves the markets of Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Germany, Guatemala, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain, Peru and the United States. The plant, which employs 70 people, has an installed capacity of 8,100 tons, which the company plans to increase to 9,500 tons.

“Reaching the goal of one million retreads reflects our commitment to offering our customers the highest quality, most cost-effective solutions,” said Frank Seeger, national sales manager for Continental’s Commercial Vehicle Tire division.

“We started operations in our plant almost 5 years ago,” said Arturo Cristiani, manager of the Morelia plant. “Since then, we have been able to successfully overcome all the challenges we have been faced with, thanks to the synergy of the best materials, technologies, processes, systems and, most notably, the excellence of our team. All of this, combined with the leadership of our coworkers and the fact that we live by our organizational values every day, allows us to make the highest quality products for our customers.”
